As the project has been progressing and we have wanted to share our work on social media, I needed to think about who our target audience is and this decides where we want to showcase our animation but also what we can and can't post on social media and the language we use in the animation.

During a group meeting we spoke about what audiences we were aiming for and we all decided it was definitely a young adult (15/16) and mature adult audience. So around the 16+ range. We thought the themes in our animation although they are funny, they aren't for young children we also wanted to use swearing at some points in the animation so we knew this would cut us out of the young child audience completely. We knew that our tone was not as bad a South Parks or even Rick and Mortys level and we aimed more for Family Guy and Simpsons level. The project is aimed at people our age who will appreciate the crude jokes but not get offended by them.

Family Guy - 15 - strong sex references

SouthPark Film -15- Passed '15' for frequent coarse language and crude sexual references

Team America Film- 15- Contains strong language, violence and sex, all involving puppets

Simpsons - PG - mild bad language, cartoon violence, sex references

After looking into the ratings of all these popular shows I was surprised to see our Animation would likely be PG rated. As when I looked into in it says mild language can be used but must be infrequent. Sexual themes maybe implied but it does say no to nudity. Therefore I would agree the animation is a PG but could be pushed to a 12A if there was more swearing or longer scenes of violence and gore.

As well as audience being a concern there was also a risk assessment that needed to be done for the project as a whole. The university's templates are easy to follow and were best for me as i can just go back and edit them as needed. This will probably get another edit once 2nd semester has begun. This is the risk assessment so far, as it may need developing as the project progresses.

As the project has progressed the script has been reformatted about 10 times now. We have decided to take it in a mature route, with more gore and the use of swear words. Therefore the animation is definitely a 15 rating.
